๐Ÿ“ฑ How to Save Videos on Mobile Devices

For Apple iOS (iPhone & iPad Safari)

Apple's iOS handles downloads through Safari's native download manager. To save an extracted video directly into your Photos camera roll:

  1. Paste your URL into SocialSnap and tap Fetch Media.
  2. Select your desired resolution (e.g. 1080p MP4) and tap Download.
  3. Safari will display a confirmation prompt: "Do you want to download [filename]?" Tap Download.
  4. Look at the top or bottom URL address bar for the small blue circular download arrow icon (โ†“). Tap it and select Downloads.
  5. Tap on the downloaded video to open it in full screen, then tap the Share Icon (square with an upward arrow) in the bottom left corner.
  6. Scroll down and select "Save Video". The video is now saved directly into your Photos app!

For Android Devices (Google Chrome & Samsung Internet)

  1. Tap Download next to your selected format.
  2. Chrome will display a progress notification: "Downloading file...".
  3. Once finished, tap Open or look in your device's Files / Downloads app. The video will automatically appear in your Gallery or Google Photos library under the "Download" album.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Common Issues & Diagnostic Solutions

1. "No video tracks detected" or Audio-Only Result on Instagram

Cause: The post you requested is either a multi-slide carousel containing only static images, or an audio-only post.

Solution: Look below the main download button for the "๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Multi-Slide Carousel Items" section. SocialSnap automatically isolates every individual high-resolution photo from the carousel for independent download.

2. "Instagram requires authentication for this content" (Stories / Private Accounts)

Cause: Instagram Stories and private user posts require an active logged-in session to view. Instagram's servers block anonymous requests to stories after a few seconds.

Solution: Tap "โš™๏ธ Cookies & Auth" in the top header. Open Instagram in a desktop browser or inspect cookies to copy your sessionid cookie, paste it into the box, and click Save & Apply. Your private authorized content will immediately unlock!

3. "YouTube blocked this server's datacenter IP"

Cause: YouTube frequently updates its anti-bot challenges to restrict server datacenter networks.

Solution: SocialSnap features built-in multi-tier fallback pipelines utilizing YouTube's android_vr and android client endpoints, extracting public videos up to 4K without requiring login cookies. If you are downloading an age-restricted or private video, export fresh cookies from YouTube.com using the "Get cookies.txt LOCALLY" extension and paste them into "โš™๏ธ Cookies & Auth".

4. "Audio extracted has no sound on Windows Media Player"

Cause: Some legacy desktop media players lack native codecs for Opus or high-efficiency AAC audio streams.

Solution: We recommend choosing MP3 (320kbps) for universal compatibility across older software, or playing your video files using the free, open-source VLC Media Player.

โ“ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Yes! SocialSnap is 100% free to use. There are no subscriptions, paywalls, or hidden watermarks attached to your media. The platform is supported through unobtrusive display advertising via Google AdSense.

Do I need to install any desktop software or extensions?

No. SocialSnap runs entirely in your web browser across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, iPadOS, and Android. No software installation or browser extensions are required.

Are downloaded TikTok videos free of watermarks?

Yes! SocialSnap accesses the original raw server-side video stream prior to client-side watermark overlays, providing clean, high-definition videos ideal for portfolio archiving and video repurposing.
